Firstly your aesthetic practitioner will discuss with you what you'd like to achieve as well as going through the process thoroughly from start to finish, a medical questionnaire is complete in order to offer the safest treatment possible. At this stage we can answer any further questions which you may have.  Before commencing treatment, a specialist numbing cream is applied to the area to allow for a comfortable procedure.

All fillers used within our clinics are of premium quality made out of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) a naturally occurring substance in our body, the filler itself also contains lidocaine the main ingredient in the numbing cream to make the procedure painless. The chosen filler is then carefully injected into precise areas of your chin to create a more attractive shape.

Aftercare given before leaving to finalise treatment. You will notice some swelling following dermal filler injections and it may be sensitive for a day or two. It is essential that you follow the aftercare advice provided for best end results.

Are there any Side effects?

Every client is different, but at least 48hrs is advised for swelling, redness and inflammation to settle down which are common side effects. A full 14 days should be allowed to see true settled results. Bruising can occur all of which is completely normal. Makeup can be applied to the area 6 hours after procedure to cover bruising and we strongly recommend Arnica to aid this.

In rare occasions infections can occur but greatly reduced with the correct post- treatment and aftercare advice handed to you on the day of treatment.

How many sessions are required?

Typically one session in required for the chin however as filler is best layered some clients do opt for a second session later on, this is not always necessary depending on many factors however can make the enhancement last longer.

What is Dermal Filler?

Dermal Filler is made from hyaluronic acid, a sugar molecule that exists naturally in almost all living organisms and it is used to treat static facial lines by adding volume to enhance certain facial features. It binds water and is important for the transport of nutrients and in regulating water balance in skin, giving good skin elasticity. By enhancing the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid, dermal fillers add volume to the skin and further revitalise, this instantly diminishes the appearance of lines and wrinkles, giving a natural softer look. Dermal fillers are a soft injectable gel consisting of stabilized, non-animal based hyaluronic acid. The gel is tissue-friendly and closely resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body. It is long-lasting but not permanent.

How much do I need?

This does vary incredibly from person to person, we recommend starting with 1ml, we feel this is a good starting point and allows for some client’s a subtle difference and for others a major difference. If you are unhappy with the projection or shape of your chin, chin augmentation with dermal fillers can be a significant enhancement, subtle but dramatic.

Depending on your unique circumstances, we will recommend more and this can be an added optional extra during your treatment.

Could I benefit from a Chin Enhancement?

The chin is one of the most critical aspects of a balanced facial profile. Adding volume to your chin can dramatically improve your facial appearance, leading to improved balance and proportion.

A weak chin can throw off the balance of your face. If your chin lacks projection, slopes to the neck, or is too small for your features, it can affect the overall allure of your facial structure.

Non-Surgical chin augmentation has been known to improve the appearance of;

A prominent nose
A weak jawline
Sagging jowls
A double chin
An unbalanced profile including underdeveloped Chin
A pointed or square chin structure
An asymmetrical chin

Does it hurt?

Our aim is to ensure optimal client comfort at all times, to minimise discomfort, we apply a strong topical anaesthetic, applied twice pre-procedure for all our treatments. All injectable fillers used within our clinics contain local anaesthetic itself which equally ease the pain during injection.

Do I see results immediately?

Yes! Although your chin might be swollen at first and typically for 48 hours however the results are immediate. A further 7 days should be allowed for the final and true results of the procedure.

Can filler be dissolved?

All dermal fillers will vary on longevity, clients metabolic speed and lifestyle can also alter how long the product lasts, however on average hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers can last anywhere between 6-18months depending on choice of filler and amount injected. All results from dermal fillers used at Babe Aesthetics are temporary and can be reversed using Hyalase a compound which breaks down Hyaluronic Acid (HA).

What should I do before my appointment?

We always suggest staying well hydrated prior your appointment since the fillers we use are made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA) which is a water holding molecule, keeping hydrated will also help keep filler for longer post treatment. One Week Prior to Lip Injections Avoid topical products such as Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinol, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, or any anti-aging products. Start taking Arnica two days prior to the procedure, please note this is not required, but it will help to lessen bruising. 24 Hours Prior to Injections Do not drink alcohol 24 hours prior as this can heighten the chance of further bruising and swelling. General Recommendations If you previously suffered from cold sores, there is a risk that the procedure can contribute to another outbreak so please take an antiviral treatment a couple of days beforehand. Do not use dermal fillers if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are allergic to any ingredients, or suffer from neurological disorders, additionally please inform us if you have any questions about this prior to your treatment.
