LIP ENHANCEMENT

TREATMENT STEP BY STEP

1. CONSULTATION

Firstly your aesthetic practitioner will discuss with you what you'd like to achieve as well as going through the process thoroughly from start to finish, a medical questionnaire is complete in order to offer the safest treatment possible. At this stage we can answer any further questions which you may have.  Before commencing treatment, a specialist numbing cream is applied to the area to allow for a comfortable procedure.

2. DURING TREATMENT

All fillers used within our clinics are of premium quality made out of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) a naturally occurring substance in our body, the filler itself also contains lidocaine the main ingredient in the numbing cream to make the procedure painless. The chosen filler is then injected using various techniques depending on the required results to enhance the lips and finally massaged to give a natural result.

3. AFTER TREATMENT

Aftercare given before leaving to finalise treatment. You will notice some swelling following dermal filler injections and it may be sensitive for a day or two. It is essential that you follow the aftercare advice provided for best end results.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Dermal Filler?

Dermal Filler is made from hyaluronic acid, a sugar molecule that exists naturally in almost all living organisms and it is used to treat static facial lines by adding volume to enhance certain facial features. It binds water and is important for the transport of nutrients and in regulating water balance in skin, giving good skin elasticity. By enhancing the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid, dermal fillers add volume to the skin and further revitalise, this instantly diminishes the appearance of lines and wrinkles, giving a natural softer look. Dermal fillers are a soft injectable gel consisting of stabilized, non-animal based hyaluronic acid. The gel is tissue-friendly and closely resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body. It is long-lasting but not permanent.

Does it hurt?

Our aim is to ensure optimal client comfort at all times, to minimise discomfort, we apply a strong topical anaesthetic, applied twice pre-procedure for all our treatments. All injectable fillers used within our clinics contain local anaesthetic itself which equally ease the pain during injection.

How much filler do I need?

This will depend on the area being treated, amounts of filler will vary. A treatment plan is put in place with one of our Aesthetic Practitioners to establish how much is necessary for your desired look. Due to the anatomy of each client, some will require more than others.

First time lip clients will find that 1ml is a good starting point and further 0.5mls are added months apart to create the desired look but this is not the case for everyone. Dermal fillers work best when layering therefore more than one session is required to achieve the desirable outcome.

The difference between Standard and Premium fillers?

All fillers used within our clinics are made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and contain lidocaine the numbing agent used to numb the lips prior to injection. Fillers are simply made from different molecules therefore it does not mean one is better than the other, we use standard fillers majority of the time and find them longer lasting than some of our premium. It is simply a choice.

Do I see results immediately?

Yes! Although they will be swollen at first and typically for 48 hours however the results are immediate. A further 7 days should be allowed for the final and true results of the procedure.
