Nasolabial folds appear as the ageing process starts to take place, the folds become deep and form a shadow that can make the face look tired. As gravity takes hold, the subcutaneous fat tissue slowly moves vertically down sagging down from the cheekbone and creating the nasolabial and marionette folds.

By injecting measured amounts of filler into the crucial places on the face, your face regains the substance required once again, this way, the hyaluronic acid filler is injected just under the skin, which immediately restores with an added rejuvenating properties, causes your contours and volume return.

Firstly your aesthetic practitioner will discuss with you what you'd like to achieve as well as going through the process thoroughly from start to finish, a medical questionnaire is complete in order to offer the safest treatment possible. At this stage we can answer any further questions which you may have.  Before commencing treatment, a specialist numbing cream is applied to the area to allow for a comfortable procedure.

All fillers used within our clinics are of premium quality made out of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) a naturally occurring substance in our body, the filler itself also contains lidocaine the main ingredient in the numbing cream to make the procedure painless. The chosen filler is then carefully injected just under the skin, which immediately restores and rejuvenates the area.

Aftercare given before leaving to finalise treatment. You will notice some swelling following dermal filler injections and it may be sensitive for a day or two. It is essential that you follow the aftercare advice provided for best end results.

What is Dermal Filler?

Dermal Filler is made from hyaluronic acid, a sugar molecule that exists naturally in almost all living organisms and it is used to treat static facial lines by adding volume to enhance certain facial features. It binds water and is important for the transport of nutrients and in regulating water balance in skin, giving good skin elasticity. By enhancing the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid, dermal fillers add volume to the skin and further revitalise, this instantly diminishes the appearance of lines and wrinkles, giving a natural softer look. Dermal fillers are a soft injectable gel consisting of stabilized, non-animal based hyaluronic acid. The gel is tissue-friendly and closely resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body. It is long-lasting but not permanent.

Does it hurt?

Our aim is to ensure optimal client comfort at all times, to minimise discomfort, we apply a strong topical anaesthetic, applied twice pre-procedure for all our treatments. All injectable fillers used within our clinics contain local anaesthetic itself which equally ease the pain during injection.

Do I see results immediately?

Yes! Although the area will be swollen at first and typically for 48 hours however the results are immediate. A further 7 days should be allowed for the final and true results of the procedure.

What are Nasolabial Lines, Marionette or Smoker lines?

Nasolabial Lines

The nasolabial fold is the deep crease running from either side of the nose down towards the corners of the mouth. This crease becomes more noticeable as part of the natural ageing process. Fat is lost from the cheeks, reducing skin volume, and making this fold appear considerably deeper. The goal of nasolabial fold injections is to even out the skin volume, leaving you with a smoother, refreshed-looking appearance.

Marionette Lines

Marionette lines or (corner of the mouth) are long vertical wrinkles or creases that traverse from the corners of the lips to the chin. These creases could give a sad look to the face and they typically occur with age, smoking and genetics, these can progress to form jowls later. It is possible to lift these corners with dermal filler by adding volume and anchoring the corners higher up.

Smokers Lines

Perioral (smokers) lines are the linear wrinkles which are above and out from the border of the mouth. These lines are created through the natural process of ageing with a loss of volume and elasticity in the skin around the mouth. The appearance of these lines may be exaggerated through chronic sun exposure or smoking and certain individuals are shown to have an inherited predisposition to developing them. Small volumes of dermal filler can be used to reduce the appearance of perioral lines and also enhance the projection of the lips. This restores a fuller, smoother, and more youthful appearance to the lower face.

How many treatments will I need?

Typically one session is required for optimum results depending on the severity of the lines and we would recommend one session using 1ml, since results usually last upwards of 12 months it isn't essential to keep coming back for top-ups unless necessary and after allowing adequate time for the treatment to settle before considering another treatment.

What should I do before my appointment?

We always suggest staying well hydrated prior your appointment since the fillers we use are made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA) which is a water holding molecule, keeping hydrated will also help keep filler for longer post treatment. One Week Prior to Lip Injections Avoid topical products such as Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinol, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, or any anti-aging products. Start taking Arnica two days prior to the procedure, please note this is not required, but it will help to lessen bruising. 24 Hours Prior to Injections Do not drink alcohol 24 hours prior as this can heighten the chance of further bruising and swelling. General Recommendations If you previously suffered from cold sores, there is a risk that the procedure can contribute to another outbreak so please take an antiviral treatment a couple of days beforehand. Do not use dermal fillers if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are allergic to any ingredients, or suffer from neurological disorders, additionally please inform us if you have any questions about this prior to your treatment.

Are there any Side effects?

Every client is different, but at least 48hrs is advised for swelling, redness and inflammation to settle down which are common side effects. A full 14 days should be allowed to see true settled results. Bruising can occur all of which is completely normal. Makeup can be applied to the area 6 hours after procedure to cover bruising and we strongly recommend Arnica to aid this.

In rare occasions infections can occur but greatly reduced with the correct post- treatment and aftercare advice handed to you on the day of treatment.

What payment methods do you accept?

Whether you are paying in full before your procedure or just the deposit we accept all major Debit and Credit cards as well as PayPal if required. A finance option will also be coming soon.

Can filler be dissolved?

All dermal fillers will vary on longevity, clients metabolic speed and lifestyle can also alter how long the product lasts, however on average hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers can last anywhere between 6-18months depending on choice of filler and amount injected. All results from dermal fillers used at Babe Aesthetics are temporary and can be reversed using Hyalase a compound which breaks down Hyaluronic Acid (HA).

How does this treatment work?

This treatment is designed to eradicate the appearance of deeper wrinkles and creases around the lower area of the face. Dermal fillers are injected and the filler fills out the lines and wrinkles therefore increasing the volume and softening the lines.
